I'm Madeleine and I run GND Devon. I'm a Devon resident, passionate about campaigning for a Green New Deal. I set up GND Devon in 2020 as a local hub of GND UK.
After spending time in the climate movement and energy sector, I feel strongly that much of the messaging around climate change is based around bad news stories, incremental change, or technical solutions that seem far removed from every day life. What people seem to be missing is hope and a way to really envision what that hope could eventually turn into.
As well as taking part in actions and activist movements over the years, my professional experience is in policy-making, spending time in the energy sector, to create better policy for renewable energy and to run the Electricity Storage Network. In the past I’ve also worked in the Cabinet Office to create data science policy across the civil service.

I also dabble in a bit of protest folk from time to time and will no doubt chew your ear off about my mad little springer spaniel, Maui.
